Sensor Donations
(Service Area of Champaign-Urbana, IL)
SAE donates free air quality sensors (and various kits) to residents of areas we monitor. The donation of sensors is also based on availability. The sensors measure particulate matter, which is one of the six most common harmful air pollutants known as Criteria Pollutants. Particulate matter does not tell the whole story of air quality, but it can be an important indicator. Donated sensors may be registered by the resident as “inside” or “outside,” and as “public” or “private.” If a sensor is designated for “outside” and “public,” the sensor and its real-time data will appear among other sensors on the manufacturer’s network map for our area. You and the community can, therefore, get a larger picture of our air quality. See the map on our "Sensor Map & Lab Report" tab. Message us to see how you may receive a free sensor!
